[HIGH FIVE] We gave a High Five to Lysandra Brewer, an Instructor at [solidcore], YTX Austin, and Homebody Studios, as well as the Director of Operations at Body by EMS in Austin, TX.

Wellcomm: Where do you workout?

Lysandra Brewer: I spend most of my week teaching at [solidcore], YTX Austin, and Homebody Studios, and I also train at the studios I’m part of, along with Body by EMS. I like to mix it up and check out other spots around Austin, too, especially to support friends in the industry. I’m big on combining Pilates, strength, and recovery: I think they all complement each other and help you feel your best.

WC: What does wellness mean to you?

LB: To me, wellness isn’t about being perfect: it’s about building habits that support how you want to feel. Some days, that’s a tough workout, and other days, that’s resting, walking, or just enjoying time with friends without overthinking it. I’ve learned that consistency matters more than perfection, and taking care of yourself should feel like something that adds to your life, not something that takes away from it.

WC: What are your wellness goals over the next twelve months?

LB: I’m really focused on continuing to grow as an instructor and helping more people connect with movement in a positive way. Personally, I want to keep building strength, stay consistent with recovery, and keep learning so I can show up as the best coach for my clients. I want people to see that fitness doesn’t have to feel intimidating: it can actually be something you look forward to.

WC: Who are some people who inspire you, motivate you, or keep you accountable when it comes to your wellness?

LB: I’m lucky to be surrounded by an incredible community of instructors who constantly inspire me. Some of my biggest influences have been Morgan Preston at [solidcore], Julia Veronesi at YTX Austin, and Cam Patton at Homebody Studios. Watching the way they coach, connect with clients, and show up every day motivates me to keep growing. My clients also inspire me just as much: they remind me why I love doing what I do.

WC: What advice would you share with someone looking to change their wellness routine?

LB: Find something you actually enjoy. If you don’t like what you’re doing, it’s going to be hard to stick with it. Try different things until something clicks, and build a routine that fits your life—not someone else’s. Also, don’t let one workout or one off weekend throw you off track. Just keep showing up.
