[HIGH FIVE] We gave a High Five to Abs Wedding, a Head Coach and Community Manager at [solidcore] Ballston in Arlington, VA.

WellcommDC: Where do you work…out?

Abs Wedding: I work out at [solidcore] and take Kaitlyn Doyle’s class at SoulFire Collective Yoga for mobility. I supplement with Peloton: Cody Rigsby, Tunde Oyeneyin, and Jess Sims are my go-to instructors for fun workouts and great playlists. I also love taking long walks outside.

WDC: What does wellness mean to you?

AW: Wellness means feeling energized by spending time with friends, moving my body, and doing what I love. It’s about creating a balance that nurtures both my physical and mental health. For me, wellness is the harmony of connection, self-care, and growth.

WDC: What are your wellness goals over the next twelve months?

AW: Over the next twelve months, I want to live more in the moment and make choices that strengthen my relationship with myself and build my self-confidence. As a manager and coach, I often get to witness the confidence my clients gain through the power of movement. I want to bring that same focus to myself by using movement, yoga, and fun as ways to nourish my own wellness.

WDC: Who are some people who inspire you, motivate you, or keep you accountable when it comes to your wellness?

AW: I’m constantly inspired by every client who walks into my [solidcore] studio—they show up for themselves over and over, and with so much strength. Huge thanks to Kali Dawson Hill, Heather Hardy, Rachel Meringer, and Nina Leon for showing me what it means to be a strong leader and coach. Shoutout to Lynn Poe for training me as HCCM—I wouldn’t be here without you! Alexa Russell and Ish Khemani have been incredible as coworkers and friends, and I’m always inspired by all the coaches in Ballston. My best friend Ally Mundy inspires me to take time for myself every day, even in small ways. Lastly, a huge thank you to my amazing mom, Rives Wedding, for showing me how strong I can be and that my mental health comes first, and to my sister Samantha Wedding for always pushing me to be my best. I’m grateful for my family, friends, clients, and mentors who inspire me to pursue a career in fitness every day!

WDC: What advice would you share with someone looking to change their wellness routine?

AW: Find something you love—something you look forward to, even on the hard days. Keep it simple; each day might look different, but doing what brings you joy helps you stay consistent and grow your self-confidence. As Jess Sims says, “You don’t have to, you get to!” And never be afraid to start over.
