[HIGH FIVE] We gave a High Five to Avery Marelli, an Instructor at SoulCycle in Washington, DC.

WellcommDC: Where do you work…out?

Avery Marelli: Six to seven days a week, you can find me at SoulCycle, but occasionally I will stop by Easy Day Yoga, Barry’s, or [solidcore] or can be found walking my dog outside!

WDC: What does wellness mean to you?

AM: Wellness is finding a balance between living and doing! Wellness is a lifestyle that accompanies both my mental and physical health and acts as a method and source of grounding for me.

WDC: What are your wellness goals over the next twelve months?

AM: Make it a part of my lifestyle! So not only thinking about cardio levels and toning, but about ways I can allow my mind to relax for portions of the day. Movement is medicine!

WDC: Who are some people who inspire you, motivate you, or keep you accountable when it comes to your wellness?

AM: The community at SoulCycle is so strong: I am surrounded daily by people both near and far who inspire me and motivate me to be the strongest version of myself. I also would not be where I am today without Isaiah Moon and Danny Luu, two of the most inspiring people I know.

WDC: What advice would you share with someone looking to change their wellness routine?

AM: Find things that do not feel forced. When I found SoulCycle, I realized it is not normal to have to force yourself to go to workouts you dislike daily. I look forward to hopping on the bike every day now because it is something that I love to do and I feel good doing it.
