[HIGH FIVE] We gave a High Five to KeriAnne Gallagher, an Instructor at F45 Arlington in Arlington, VA.

WellcommDC: Where do you work…out?

KeriAnne Gallagher: Most weekdays you can find me at Onelife Fitness lifting or doing a HIIT workout, but on the weekends or a free evening, I love to mix up my workouts and add in a class. I love to do cardio days at F45 Arlington and at [solidcore] with Alexa Russell, and I just tried an Alpha class at Life Time Clarendon with Juan Marcano Cheng! I also love to get in a run when the weather is nice or do yoga as an active recovery day: I highly recommend puppy yoga/Pilates with Dr. Danielle Viola at VIDA Fitness.

WDC: What does wellness mean to you?

KG: To me, wellness is a combination of both my physical and mental wellbeing, and I find my wellness is best when I can strike a healthy balance between both! It’s so important for me to be nutritionally aware and challenge myself physically while also allowing myself grace to enjoy a night out with friends or take a day off. Balancing physical fitness with doing other activities I love is what ultimately brings me more mental peace and allows me to show up in a better headspace both professionally and personally.

WDC: What are your wellness goals over the next twelve months?

KG: I just recently got over a knee injury, and I am focused on gaining back some of my leg strength that I lost while rehabbing that injury. I would love to compete in a fitness competition in the near future, either the TRU Challenge again or even possibly HYROX.

WDC: Who are some people who inspire you, motivate you, or keep you accountable when it comes to your wellness?

KG: I’m constantly inspired by all of my fellow F45 Arlington coaches! Everyone is always challenging themselves and inspiring me daily. A large group of coaches did HYROX, including Robert Goodin, Dani Rojas, Katie Lebel, Fiona McDonald, Kristina Boyle, Rose Fennessy, Christina Grau, Kelsey Henneman, and Bridget O’Brien Blair. Seeing everyone push themselves to train for it was really motivating to me. I’m constantly motivated by my friends and athletes over at ORTAC Tactical Training, my best friend and fitness fanatic Jessica Maria, and the Arlington fitness community as a whole. I’m so lucky to live in an area where wellness is a passion for so many!

WDC: What advice would you share with someone looking to change their wellness routine?

KG: Find something that makes you excited to workout and prioritize your wellness! Whether that be trying a gym, class, or workout you’ve never done before, whipping up a new nutritious recipe, or even just getting a new workout set! Switching up your routine can be the catalyst you need to get inspired and really dive into to a new type of wellness.
