WellcommDC: Where do you work…out?
Dennis Le: I coach and workout at Lotus Thai Boxing in Annandale and Club Studio in Arlington
WDC: What does wellness mean to you?
DL: Wellness is about being and feeling whole. A balance between your body and mind. It’s waking up with energy. Trusting your body. Feeling confident in it. Quieting the noise in your head.
WDC: What are your wellness goals over the next twelve months?
DL: Nothing currently set in stone, but I would like to try different fitness modalities.
WDC: Who are some people who inspire you, motivate you, or keep you accountable when it comes to your wellness?
DL: One of my biggest inspirations throughout my fitness journey is Carlos Lopez. He is my “Kru,” Thai for head teacher and coach. He’s taught me everything I know when it comes to Muay Thai and boxing, along with other life lessons. He pushed me to be better and believed in me when I didn't believe in myself. I would not be the person I am without his lessons and guidance, and I am forever grateful. Another source of inspiration: my fellow coaches and my teammates at Lotus Thai Boxing.
WDC: What advice would you share with someone looking to change their wellness routine?
DL: Figure out your "Why?" "Why am I doing this?" "Why do I want this?" Whatever the reason or the goal, what do you honestly want from the change? Once you have a clear understanding of that, how you will accomplish it will come easy.
